It was rivalry weekend at Earl E. Wilson Stadium as the Rebels took on the UNR Wolfpack in a series that the Rebels desperately needed to win. UNLV was sitting at .500 after getting swept by the San Jose State Spartans, and with a three game series against rival UNR, every game mattered.

With that mindset, the Rebels came out guns blazing in the first inning with two back to back doubles from Wold and Williams bringing the score to 3-0. UNLV was able to keep the momentum throughout the entire game and won by a score of 7-6.

The Rebels were getting red hot as they kept the runs coming on Saturday with an 8-5 with the bat of Max Smith who was able to knock out two home runs and an RBI single early in the game. Ryan Hare played a solid game on the mound allowing UNR to score only once. However, late into the game the Wolfpack were able to get within three runs in the ninth until they were finally shut down by Conner Woods and the Rebels were able to secure a huge series win in the second game of the weekend.

Sunday's game started off well for UNLV, who was looking to complete the sweep, as they were ahead 6-3 in the ninth inning due to a plethora of scoring singles. However, the dominance fell short as UNR was able to score off of an error and a single sending the game into extra innings where the Wolfpack would hit a walk off home run to win the game 6-7. UNLV was able to successfully take a very important series in the Mountain West and improve their record to 14-11 overall and 4-5 in conference.
